It is crucial to have coordinated and collaborative planned work for the development of the bamboo sector, which has immense potential for industry and employment creation. This is because the environment-friendly bamboo sector has a bright future in bringing about positive social and economic changes in the coming times, stated retired civil servant and Chief Executive Officer of Maharashtra Bamboo Promotion Foundation, V. Giriraj.

He was addressing an important meeting of the newly formed ‘The Bamboo Association of Chandrapur’, an organization of bamboo entrepreneurs, bamboo technology diploma holders, bamboo farmers, bamboo friends, and bamboo artisans, held at the Forest Rest House, Rambagh. Giving examples of his various experiences during his long service in administration and the bamboo sector, he further said that it is necessary to carry out quality work by doing short-term and long-term planning in an innovative way in the bamboo sector. The Maharashtra Bamboo Promotion Foundation will definitely cooperate in activities like research survey, training, artisan-friendly machine design, bamboo depot, and machine purchase. During this time, detailed discussions were also held on the problems, difficulties, and solutions of bamboo entrepreneurs, artisans, and farmers in Chandrapur district. The meeting was attended by renowned bamboo architect Ganesh Harimkar, along with Snehal Pidurkar, President of The Bamboo Association of Chandrapur, Anil Dahagaonkar, Secretary, Kishore Gaikwad, Vice President, Abhay Roy, Joint Secretary, Ajinkya Shastrakar, Treasurer, Executive Members Annapurna Dhurve-Bawankar, Aditya Masade, Nilesh Pazare, Sagar Verma,Minakshi Walke, Vishal Rathod and Shubham Dhurve.
