Chandrapur (Mohammad Suleman Baig):

A serious incident captured in a viral video from the Moharli–Padmapur road has prompted the Forest Department to register a forest offence and launch an investigation.

On March 15, 2026, several individuals were seen stopping their vehicles on the road to record videos of a tiger. Some of them reportedly got down from their vehicles, obstructed the tiger’s path, and even chased it to capture footage. The video of this irresponsible and dangerous act has since gone viral on social media.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the Forest Department has initiated strict action. Vehicles found obstructing the tiger’s movement route will be subject to seizure. A forest offence (No. 09654/211333, dated 15/03/2026) has been registered under the Indian Forest Act, 1972 against unidentified individuals who got down from the road and interfered with wildlife.

The department has stated that the accused will be identified and legal action will be taken accordingly.

The investigation is being conducted by Moharli Range Forest Officer Santosh Thipe. The Forest Department has appealed to the public to share any information regarding the individuals seen in the video by contacting 9834689541.

Officials have also urged tourists and locals to avoid such actions, strictly follow wildlife regulations, and not obstruct the natural movement paths of wild animals.
