Chandrapur (Mohammad Suleman Baig):
The world-famous Tadoba–Andhari Tiger Reserve is seeing a large number of tourists because of the Christmas holidays. During this busy period, a serious issue was found at the Moharli Core Gate, where 21 tourists were caught using fake Aadhaar cards during checking over the last two days.
Moharli (Core) Range Forest Officer Arun Gond said that the problem was noticed while checking identity cards during cruiser safari bookings. After verification, all 21 Aadhaar cards were found to be fake.
Sources say that some local people and a few resort operators may also be involved. Safari bookings for cruiser vehicles are reserved only for local residents of Chandrapur district. Taking advantage of this rule, some people allegedly made fake Aadhaar cards with local names or addresses to get safari bookings illegally.
This incident has upset wildlife lovers, who are demanding strict action against those involved in the fraud. The Forest Department has started further investigation, and strong action against the offenders is expected.
