A major accident occurred when a wild boar suddenly appeared in front of a vehicle heading for a jungle safari in the Shirakala buffer zone of the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. In an attempt to avoid hitting the animal, the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to a serious crash.
The incident took place around 6:00 AM on Saturday near the Gondmohali junction in the Tadoba buffer zone. Tourists from Mumbai, Yogesh Kamalia (32) and Deeksha Jaya Shetty (34), were traveling from a private resort in their personal four-wheeler (registration number MH 48-AT-0566) towards the Shirakala safari gate.
While en route to the safari, their vehicle collided with a wild boar that suddenly crossed the road. The impact was so severe that the boar died on the spot. Both tourists sustained injuries in the accident, with one suffering a serious hand injury and currently receiving primary medical treatment.
The local forest department and police have initiated an investigation into the incident. This accident underscores the importance of maintaining cautious speed and alertness in wildlife-prone areas.
