Tadoba (Moharli):

On the occasion of Bird Week, the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) celebrated the event with great enthusiasm across its three forest ranges — Moharli, Kolsa, and Tadoba. The primary objective of this initiative was to promote awareness about the conservation of avian species, strengthen the connection between people and nature, and encourage bird watching as a way to appreciate biodiversity.

On 12th November 2025, a special bird watching event was organized at the Tadoba Lake area, where participants observed a wide variety of colorful and rare bird species. Notable sightings included the Black-capped Kingfisher, Ultramarine Flycatcher, Verditer Flycatcher, and Black-crowned Night Heron, among many others.

During the program, representatives from the local birding group “Wings of Tadoba” — Mohammad Suleman Baig, Vipul Dhawale, and Ajay Poddar — shared valuable insights with participants about the distinguishing features between male and female birds, their plumage, behavior, and habitat preferences. They also expressed gratitude to the Forest Department for organizing Bird Week and spreading the message of wildlife and nature conservation.

As part of the initiative, the Forest Department carried out bird observations across various zones of Tadoba and held discussions on possible measures for the protection and preservation of these avian species.

The event was graced by Range Forest Officer (Tadoba) Mr. Chivande, Round Officer (Sonegaon) V. D. Kamtakar, Round Officer (Katezari) Sambhaji Nannaware, Forest Guard N. D. Jude (Tadoba Beat), and staff members Ms. Pradhane, Ms. Bongilwar, A. H. Latpate, and Ms. Mamata Rajgade.

Active participation was also seen from members of Wings of Tadoba, including Mohammad Suleman Baig, Ajay Poddar, Adv. Asif Shaikh, Vipul Dhawale, and birdman Sumeth Waghmare.

This initiative highlighted the importance of Tadoba’s rich biodiversity and showcased the collaborative efforts between the Forest Department and local nature enthusiasts. The successful celebration of Bird Week has not only boosted awareness but also infused fresh energy and enthusiasm among nature lovers dedicated to wildlife conservation in Tadoba.
