A tragic incident occurred today (24th September 2025) in the buffer zone of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, when a tiger attacked and killed a 37-year-old man from Bhamdeli village at around 11:30 in the morning.

The deceased has been identified as Amol Baban Nannaware (37), a resident of Bhamdeli, who was working as a gypsy driver in Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve.

How the incident happened?
In the morning, Amol Nannaware had gone to hand over a motor pump to his father for crop spraying in their field. At that time, a tiger lurking nearby in search of prey suddenly pounced on him. The tiger dragged him nearly 50 feet away.
The horrifying incident unfolded in front of his father’s eyes. On hearing his father’s loud cries, the tiger left the body and retreated into the forest. Deep wounds were found on Amol’s neck. The body has been sent to Bhadrawati for post-mortem.
Administration’s immediate response
Upon receiving the information, Bhadrawati Police, Forest Range Officer Santosh Thipe, Range Assistants S. Jumde and Balpane, forest guards, PRT team, forest laborers, and a large number of villagers rushed to the spot.

Villagers’ demand
The deceased is survived by his wife, a young son and a little daughter. The incident has created panic in the entire area, with villagers demanding that the authorities capture and control the tiger to prevent further attacks.
