
Chandrapur (Mohammad Suleman Baig):
Acting on a tip-off, officers and staff of the Local Crime Branch, while patrolling within the jurisdiction of Ramnagar Police Station, received reliable information that a man named Lucky was running a prostitution racket for monetary gain at Hotel Tadoba Atithi Inn, Lohara.
Based on this information, a raid was conducted at the said hotel, during which the accused — Lucky alias Laxman Ramsingh Sharma (age 26), Manager, resident of Alwar, Rajasthan — was found operating a prostitution business for personal profit with the involvement of a victimized woman.
Following the raid, an offense was registered at Ramnagar Police Station under Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA). One woman was rescued from the premises during the operation.
The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Mr. Sudarshan Mummaka, Superintendent of Police, Chandrapur and Mr. Ishwar Katkade, Additional Superintendent of Police, Chandrapur.
The raid team included Special Police Officer Amol Kachore (Police Inspector), PSI Santosh Nimbhorkar, PSI Sunil Gaurkar, Head Constable Dhanraj Karkade, Police Constables Surendra Mahto, Deepak Dongre, Prafull Garghate, Sumit Barde, Shashank Badamwar, Kishor Wakate, Hiralal Gupta, driver Milind Tekam, and women constables Chhaya Nikode, Aparna Mankar, Usha Ledange, and Nirasha Titare from the Local Crime Branch and AHTU Chandrapur.
Social workers Sarita Malu and Rekha Bharsakde from NGO Chandrapur also participated in the rescue operation.
Authorities have appealed to all lodging and hotel owners to refrain from engaging in or facilitating such illegal activities. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone found operating brothels or similar unlawful establishments.
