Every Wednesday morning, six Gypsies at Agarzari Gate will be reserved exclusively for local tourists, as per the TATR Executive Committee’s decision.
Chandrapur ( Mohammad Suleman Baig ):
Local tourists from Chandrapur district have reason to celebrate, as their long-standing demand for exclusive safari access has finally been approved. Following the protest led by Member of Parliament Pratibha Dhanorkar at Moharli Gate on October 1, the Tadoba management has accepted the proposal to dedicate six safari Gypsies for locals once a week.
The decision was confirmed by Tadoba (Core) Deputy Director Anand Reddy Yellu, who informed that the proposal was unanimously passed during the Executive Committee meeting held on October 3.
As per the decision, all six-seater Gypsies at Agarzari Gate will be made available every Wednesday morning exclusively for residents of Chandrapur district. Each Gypsy will be charged ₹5,000 per trip.
The booking for these vehicles can be done up to seven days in advance at the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (Core) Deputy Director’s Office, Chandrapur, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Cruiser booking counter.
This initiative will be implemented on a trial basis from Wednesday, October 8, and future continuation will depend on the response it receives from the public.
Currently, Tadoba provides 9-seater Cruiser safari services for local visitors — four Cruisers at the Moharli Gate and three at the Kolara Gate. In total, 14 Cruisers operate daily (morning and afternoon sessions combined), allowing up to 126 tourists per day. The Cruiser safari fee is only ₹720, and there is 100% exemption on camera fees.
With this new decision, local residents will now find it easier and more affordable to experience tiger sightings within Tadoba’s scenic wilderness.
