Nagpur: MTDC Celebrates World Tourism Day Focusing on “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”

Theme: “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”

Nagpur: The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) celebrated World Tourism Day with great enthusiasm at its Regional Office, Nagpur. Tourists and local citizens actively participated in various engaging activities organized to mark the occasion.

The event was held in line with the theme declared by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) — “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.”

As part of the celebration, several exciting activities were organized, including a Heritage Walk, a Plastic-Free Campaign, a special floral welcome with roses, and creative competitions such as painting, essay writing, and reels-making. These activities received an overwhelming response from tourists as well as local participants.

The program was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Dr. Ravishankar More, Director of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar School of Law; Vijay Savarkar; Dr. Prashant Virkhare, Head of the Travel and Tourism Department; Architect Sandeep Pathe; and Pawan Agrawal. The event was conducted in the presence of Managing Director Nilesh Gathane.

On this occasion, tourism expert Chandrapal Chouksey felicitated Vijay Savarkar for his outstanding contribution to the tourism sector. Winners of the various competitions were also awarded for their achievements.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Senior Manager Dinesh Patil, who expressed gratitude to all the guests, participants, and organizers for making the celebration a grand success.

The event was organized by Muskan Baig (Resort Manager), Vaishali Bhandarkar, Mrunali Ghangare, and Kunal Karale, whose efforts ensured the smooth and successful execution of the entire program.
